A wand massager is a larger, handheld format. The Doxy page describes a deeper rumble, and the four picks below range from a full-size model to compact ones. Size, battery and water resistance are the specs that separate them.
The specs below are as published by each maker, and we point out where something is only a claim and where the page is silent.
What to look for
- Size. The Large is listed at 30.4 cm in total length and the Medium at about 21 cm. The Doxy page calls its model smaller and easier to handle than a full-size wand.
- Battery. Check the run time, and remember “up to” is the best case.
- Water resistance. There is a real difference between splash resistant and 100% waterproof. Check the exact wording.
- Number of intensity levels. The LELO wands list ten settings and the Doxy lists eight levels.
- Head material. A silicone head is listed on the Doxy; LELO lists body-safe silicone and ABS plastic.
- Noise. Few of these pages state a noise figure, so treat quietness as unknown unless the page says so.
Our picks
LELO Smart Wand 2 Large: the full-size pick
LELO Smart Wand 2 Large is our top pick. The maker lists ten settings, up to four hours of run time and a 30.4 cm total length. The page describes it as 100% waterproof and made from body-safe silicone and ABS plastic. It is for anyone who wants a full-size massager with a long stated battery life and a broad intensity range.
LELO Smart Wand 2 Medium: the mid-size option
LELO Smart Wand 2 Medium is the same family in a smaller body, about 21 cm long. It has ten settings and a three-button interface, is described as 100% waterproof, and the page lists up to two hours of use with standby of up to 90 days. It is a rechargeable, manageable size if a full-size wand sounds like too much.
Lovense Domi 2: compact and app-controlled
Lovense Domi 2 is a compact wand that connects over Bluetooth and charges by USB. The page cites up to six hours of continuous play, the longest stated run time of the four. Note the IPX6 rating: the page says it handles splashes but is not a full waterproof claim. It suits shoppers who want a portable wand with remote customisation.
Doxy Die Cast Compact Cordless: the compact deeper rumble
Doxy Die Cast Compact Cordless comes from a specialist wand maker and is positioned as smaller and easier to handle than a full-size wand. It charges over USB-C, offers eight levels of intensity and has a durable silicone head. It is splash resistant to IPX4 and the page states it is not waterproof, so keep it out of the bath.
What to keep in mind
Because two of these picks are not waterproof, check the maker’s care instructions on the product page before cleaning or taking any wand near water.
We left out a run time for the Doxy model because the maker’s own page gives two different figures. Prices and stock change and some stores price by region, so check each product page for the current offer. For more on how we shortlist, see How we choose.
